Defining Kandu: I Kandu It!

Kandu is defined as “Can-Do”. Kandu is an attitude. Kandu is a lifestyle change.

Admittedly easier said than done, but this attitude adjustment has helped me grow mentally, emotionally and most importantly, spiritually. I just decided to think differently. Approach life differently. For every negative outcome you can give power to, why not concentrate on a positive outcome instead. I chose to focus on two valuable behavior changes. I desperately needed to focus on active listening and positive speech. I had to acknowledge my tendency to talk a lot. Like a whole lot. The reality is when you’re spending so much time talking, there is no way for you to listen. It is not until you choose to situate yourself to be observant and aware before you begin to learn and grow from your circumstances. Try and take the position of quiet observation. People will reveal so much by what comes from their mouths. It was embarrassing how difficult it was for me at first. I still struggle with keeping myself quiet at times, but it is much better for me when I am. I have learned how powerful a stance of quiet observation can be. I am more aware of my surroundings. People reveal their heart’s desires to you when you listen. Idle conversations are strongly discouraged in the Word of God. Choose instead to be selective with your words. Understand the power of your tongue.

The stronger you grow in your walk of faith, the better you position yourself to discern the voice of God. This was the strongest motivator for me when choosing to work on my active listening skills. I was compelled to listen in order to understand what path God had for me. In addition to positioning yourself to listen, be mindful of the power of your tongue. God is in you. The power of God is in you. God blessed His children in this way.

Focus on speaking positively over the situations of your life and witness the positive outcomes. I believe I speak things into existence. The downside to that is when I speak negatively. Avoid making a mess of things with your own mouth. When I became more mindful of the words I allowed out of my mouth, I often times became frustrated with myself. These two behaviors of actively listening and committing to positive speech were overwhelming to me at first. I was this talkative, negative person during a particular season of my life. It was the grace of God over my life that helped me to make necessary changes in order to pursue a better path. In order to pursue my path–the one that God designed just for me.
The Can-Do attitude I adopted is not a secret I wish to keep to myself. Be encouraged that you can do anything you put your mind to. You may be struggling with something in your life right now. Make the decision to approach your life differently. Decide that you can do what is necessary to grow. It may seem too big or too tough and it may very well be, but do not make the mistake of limiting God in your situation. Do not speak negatively over yourself or your circumstances. Choose to listen to what God says about you and not necessarily what others have to say about you.

Adopt a can-do attitude, and know that you Kandu all things!

This is beautiful! I agree, it is sometimes easier said than done! But with Christ there is no limitations. We must get over ourselves, sometimes, to be victorious.
